Japanese Zelkova, known locally as Keyaki, is one of Japan’s most revered hardwoods — celebrated for its rich golden tones, dramatic grain, and historical use in temples, shrines, and fine joinery. With a warm, reddish-brown color and interlocked grain that often shows beautiful chatoyance (shimmer), Keyaki slabs are bold yet elegant. Strong, stable, and naturally resistant to decay, Japanese Zelkova is ideal for statement dining tables, counters, and traditional-style furniture that lasts generations.

About the wood: Japanese Zelkova, or keyaki (Zelkova serrata), is prized in Japan for its strong, flame-like grain and is traditionally used in temples and fine furniture.
